Firstly - if you hate long posts then go away, you won't enjoy this. But if you want a realistic FIFA experience, read on.
We all know FIFA10 is a great game, right?
Great, but flawed, glitched, whatever.
Can we fix these glitches? First glance says no. Second glance says maybe.
There are a variety of ways in which to make your FIFA10 experience as realistic as possible, including camera angles, custom tactics, and player attribute editing. I'm going to write a series of guides on all things possible to make the game as realistic as possible.
In this first part I'm gonna tell you how to make your game as realistic as possible using custom tactics. There are only 28 custom tactics slots - and every team in the game has a messed up default tactic. We need to make the best use of these 28 tactics.
But first, we need a quick overview of just what custom tactics are:
Custom Tactics tell the AI team-mates and opposition how to play. More crosses, less crosses, more shots, less shots, how the players position themselves, when they'll start pressuring the opposition. All of this and more.
For a more in-depth guide click here (Understanding Custom Tactics)
OK, now I'll tell what I used the slots for - 10 for generic tactics to assign to many teams, click link above. Then the other 18 slots I reserved for: Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSV, Ajax, FC Porto, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Bayern Munich and a tactic to use online for quick tactics.
I would suggest the same as above, but use one slot for your favourite team and take out one of those teams, maybe Ajax for instance.
There is also a forum to discuss tactics, which has more useful links on it - FIFA Custom Tactics Forum (Fifa Custom Tactics)
If you assign these tactics to every team in the game according to the in-depth guide I posted earlier in this thread, you'll see a marked change in gameplay. Most teams except from Arsenal, Barcelona etc will not be as aggressive and will allow you time on the ball without constantly pressuring you and STILL having stamina left over. These obviously won't work too well for online play, but for offline play it works wonders.
Please try this out. It worked for me, and it seems to work for 99% of people as well. Don't say the idea's lalalala without trying it out. And in the same way, this might take a long time but in 5 hours I'd created all tactics, and assigned them to all teams. Just edit one league each day, and they'll be done sooner than you think.
You'll have to start a new Manager Mode for these to take effect, but that shouldn't be too bad as I'm guessing you haven't really got your teeth into a MM yet?
